- I discovered Sali Hughes' website this week (I know, where have I been), but more importantly, I discovered her videos and fell in love. I love her In The Bathroom series, I find it really fascinating. To the nosy girl inside of me, it's the equivalent of going through someone else's purse or handbag... which I definitely do.
- I pass by these amazing little copper dishes in John Lewis every time I pass through - but they're crazy expensive for what they are. When I saw this DIY for some copper candle holders, it gave me such a good idea to try it out, I've got a lot of soy wax somewhere, I'd just need to find it.
- How adorable is this home-made advent calendar? My mum made us an advent calendar when we were young, and she'd put a different chocolate or toy in each pocket for me and brothers, it was the sweetest thing. I love this one though, with the animals, it's the kind of thing I could do for myself as an adult!
- I haven't made nearly enough soup yet this autumn, but I've been collect recipes like theres no tomorrow - this butternut squash and carrot recipe and this coriander and cauliflower soup have my name all over them.
- I always forget that what the americans call cider is completely different to proper cider, so I get really confused sometimes when looking at 'alcoholic cider' recipes... I'm going off on a tangent, anyway, but how amazing does this sparkling cider sound? It reminds me of an alcoholic Appletiser, anything with champagne is good with me.
- Some lovely photos of Bruges from Daydreams of Summertime, I went there about this time last year and it was so lovely, very picturesque and old-feeling.
- I think for Christmas this year I'm going to ask for a watch, and I've been perusing the Daniel Wellington watches on the John Lewis website, I think I want a leather strap, so seeing actual photos pop up on my feed from Jane was really nice.
- I've been really loving breakfast recently, taking the time to enjoy it seems like a weirdly underrated thing, for me at least. I've been trying pancakes and porridge, but now I want to give French toast a go, Gillian has showed us how to do it with brioche, which looks so good.
- I think someone posted this on a wishlist or gift guide or something, and whilst I kind of hate the 100 "gift guides for her" you see on blogs this time of year, I really really really want this NARS lip-pencil set, as I shockingly have never tried them..
- Had to give a shout of "a-fucking-men" when I read Charlotte's post about that rapist footballer. She writes so eloquently exactly what I feel about the whole problem.
- Regular readers will know how much I love a good DIY beauty product, and this lip scrub with cinnamon is on my list of things to do next..
- My favourite blog this week is the The Merry Thought, when I saw the copper candle holders, I went back through the blog, realising it;s everything I love - a few of my favourite posts are this wooden tree advent calendar, this honey butter cornbread and this absolutely amazing cornstalk teepee, which I would so make if I had the resources!
Really loved this round up - thanks for setting me up for the next week with some great things to read and look at. The DIY copper candle is really beautiful - the merry thought is such a lovely blog. And I have bookmarked that butternut squash soup and will maaaaybe attempt to make it this week.
