- I really want to use a few more essential oils in my life, and here is really useful post to read about them from A Cup of Jo.
- Cocorrina.com is the most beautifully curated blog I've seen in a long time.
- Photos from a beautiful Estonia summer over at Kerti's blog - they feel like the perfect end to a pretty good summer, don't they? They also are giving me that itchy urge to travel somewhere new..
- Ruth's photographs of the golden hour (my favourite time) are another perfect postcard to the end of the summer. Looking out my window and watching the leaves change, I can feel myself mourning the late nights already - my most hated part of the winter.
- Since I was re-working my workspace, I was on the hunt for ideas small spaces and work-areas, this post by Bonjour Luce would have been such a good thing to read. Got lots of useful points, and would be great for people who have suddenly found themselves in a tiny room at uni-halls.
- I really want to have a go at making honeycomb - it's something I've literally never done, and I feel like this time of year will be great for it. Rachel Phipps combines a review of a book that I, also, really want, with a recipe for honeycomb that has got my mouthwatering.
- I've seen lots of helpful posts about settling in at uni, but this post by Frae is the first I've seen that addresses the issue of finding a replacement housemate when one drops out. Helpful, practical advice that you'll probably find yourself needing!
- Still in the mood for spiced/apple/cinnamon/pumpkin anything - Foodess' chai spiced apple cake with mascarpone (!) frosting is calling to me.
- Another really great post from Ruth - Why Don't You Do Photography? I know this feeling all too well. I studied Fine Art at uni, and find myself justifying why I am currently working in a shop, I think this sums up pretty perfectly how I feel and my general response, haha.
- A new blog I discovered this week - Fieldguided; the post of the Westmount greenhouse sold me.
A double-feature! Thanks so much :)
ReplyDeleteThere are some great links here too, I really like the post from Hey Gurl - I was going to say I'm glad it's something I managed to avoid at uni, but I do recall a really hectic time when a couple we were going to move in with us but broke up and she cried on my bed for hours. We took him and she found somewhere else. We were lucky enough to settle easily and lived together for a couple of years but it's pretty stressful when it's literally so 'close to home'.
I love essential oils!
ReplyDeleteHaha I loved them both and couldn't decide with which one - so included both!
ReplyDeleteYeah, our housemate got ill and dropped out, which meant we had to find another person to live with us. I understand that it was difficult for her, but at the same time we were the ones that had to find new people in the middle of the academic year, which put us under a lot of stress!
This is what I do! Open all the tabs then have a good read through posts. Hope you enjoy! x
ReplyDeleteAw thank you for the mention! I'm in the process of writing about our second replacement who moved in last week so thanks so much for the motivation! Lovely feature :D
ReplyDeleteAh, no problem! It's a very helpful thing to know I'll be honest, it was something I never thought I'd have to do at uni, so it's good to consider these things. x
