  1. It is is overly simplified, yes, but not un-true.

  2. Ugh, this is so completely poignant. Margaret Atwood is so incredibly smart and her books just blow me away, so I'm not surprised to hear her say something so clearly. Definitely brings to mind an article I wrote about feminism recently.

    1. I'll definitely check that out! I have a few of her book on my to-read shelf, and I'm itching to get stuck into them. They seem like they'll be exactly my kind of read. x

  3. It's making a point more than anything else. Men rarely walk through the world fearing for their safety, whereas women have to consider their safety in every activity from the way that they dress to the walk they take home from the grocery store. For example men never have to consider bringing a date home except that their house might be a mess - a woman has to consider that this man now knows where she lives and that they are now alone so she is more vulnerable.

  4. Thank-you, Cat, you said that so much more eloquently than I ever could! It's a thing that men never have to consider. They can walk home alone a night with a girl with probably never even considering their own personal safety, whereas it's something women have instilled into them from a young age. Like, don't give men the wrong impression, not that men should be taught not to do awful things.
