- Frae's beginners' guide to shooting film makes me nostalgic for the days when I used to use my trusty SLR a lot more than I do now. I got put off by the developing costs of film, though, when I didn't have a dark room to develop my pictures in. It's something I should get back into.
- A good guide to easy-to-keep houseplants. I've never really had issues with keeping them, and I'm apparently the one that keeps all the plants in my mum and dad's house alive, but I know some people kill them easily!
- Statues that look like they're taking selfies at artnet.com - I just couldn't not include this, sorry!
- When I see pretty Instagram photos, this is what I always think (because I know I am guilty of it too): what I Instagrammed vs my real life. For example, when I snapped my lunch the other week, what you didn't see was the fact I was still in my sweaty gym-gear with soaking wet hair because I got caught in a shower.. or when I took picture of me watering the potatoes at the allotment, I was slapping away a thousand horseflies...
- I discovered BromeLeighad's 52 forms of Fungi whilst stumbling about Pinterest this week, and I was amazed at the whole series - but this orange one in particular is by far my favourite. At uni, we spent a few miserable days in a local forest and I remember being fascinated by the kinds of fungi - this reminds me of that and I think it's so cool that they're knitted.
- This week, I embraced the colder weather and donned my first day-time all black outfit - then I came home and read this post by Franceta Johnson and it made me laugh - all black, every day, is where it's at.
- I've been trying to make the effort to have better snack recently, so have been turning to fruit and vegetables that I can munch on, so it was interesting to see ten different ways of getting your five a day.
- I've been really obsessed with Pinterest this week, so I recommend you checkout my boards - I'm getting ready for September by pinning all things Autumnal and getting excited. Although I instinctively hate the cold, dark mornings (which have started already!) I do love a lot of things about autumn.
- My favourite blog this week is On Serpentine Shores, I discovered Alex's blog through weekly blogger chats on Twitter, we had a lovely little chat and I checked out her blog afterwards - only to discover this amazing recipe for salted caramel s'mores.. Her blog makes me feel very beachy and relaxed, I love her photographs, too.
I read the Instagram vs life post too! I think we are all a bit like that :)
ReplyDeleteHaha definitely! It makes me feel like I shouldn't be so envious of peoples carefully crafted instagram feeds or blog posts when I know what the person behind mine is like.. haha
DeleteOh how I could do with one of those hard to kill houseplants. I've been able to murder a couple of cacti in my time. I don't know how i'm being trusted with a back garden!
ReplyDeleteHaha well it just takes a lot of practice! I've killed many a houseplant but I think I've got the balance right, finally..
DeleteOh my gosh, the statues taking selfies is killing me haha!
ReplyDeletearen't they so funny? I will never be able to look at statues in the same way now, haha
Deletedef getting excited for autumn!
